The Songwriting Sessions: 6-week pilot program
Songwriting is a powerful way to process and share emotions, experiences, and ideas–something all of us could use after this challenging year.
To give back to our community, we are offering a free 6-week pilot songwriting program where teens ages 15-18 will discuss the issues that affect their lives, craft lyrics, compose melodies, and gain confidence in the recording process. Some experience with playing a musical instrument or singing is suggested, but all levels are welcome.
Alex Calabrese, lead singer and songwriter for Old Tom & the Lookouts, will facilitate and guide the group in telling their stories through song.
This program will meet in person in the ATA Great Hall. All students are required to wear masks and will be appropriately distanced. Space is limited to 10 participants.
Teacher: Alex Calabrese with assistant Annika Alves
Runs: Wednesdays, 5:30-6:30 PM, April 28 – June 2
Private lessons or a group class? Piano Partners is the best of both worlds!
Register below and we’ll pair your child (age 6-9) with another student for a 45-minute lesson—15 minutes of one-on-one time with their teacher and 30 minutes in class with their partner. Learning with a peer provides motivation, modeling, and JOY as the two children progress together.
Teacher: Kayla Cardin
Runs: week of February 8 – week of June 7
New students: Classes on either Thursdays at 3:00, 4:00, or 5:00. Contact us prior to registration to determine a partner at a similar age/skill level.
Ongoing students: You may keep the same lesson day/time as in the fall. Please email or call the office to register.
Tuition: $580 (includes materials) for the 16-week semester
