The Songwriting Sessions
In this 16-week class for teens of all levels, participants will craft lyrics, compose melodies, and gain confidence in the recording process while processing their emotions, experiences, and ideas about the world. Some experience with playing a musical instrument or singing is suggested, but beginner-to-advanced levels are welcome.
Alex Calabrese will facilitate and guide the group in telling their stories through song. Alex is the lead singer and songwriter for Old Tom & the Lookouts, an indie-folk band creating hopeful, evocative music about mental health.
Note: Students who don’t own an instrument may borrow a keyboard from ATA. Just send us an email or give us a call!
