MUSIC APPRECIATION for Adults
Build Your Music Library Series

Enjoy a relaxed atmosphere while learning about and listening to some of the greatest
music from Classical to Jazz. Classes will be held in a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere with refreshments.

Classical Favorites: (Jan 30) So you love classical music, but don't know what to buy and can't remember all those names and dates. This class will focus briefly on several of the best known and not so well known composers from Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Impressionistic eras. Suggested reading and listening lists will be provided.

Jazz Favorites: (Feb 13) “It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing.” So what is jazz anyway?
Learn about some of the greatest composers, innovators and performers of jazz from
Dixieland to Cool. Suggested reading and listening lists will be provided.

Great Performances: (Feb 27) A cross section of the previous two classes, this final class will be
primarily listening, comparing and enhancing awareness of some of the greatest musicians of today and yesterday. Suggested reading and listening lists will be provided.

Teacher
Monica Hatch
studied at Julliard School, of Music. She earned her BA from Eastman School of Music and her Masters from New England Conservatory. Monica is an established area soloist and recording artist, who has been a member of our faculty since 2006.
