Intro to Keyboard
(Ages 5-6)
This program is a two-semester introduction to the keyboard with additional time spent developing aural, rhythmic and tonal skills. It combines the strengths of the Steppin’ Up program with a more gradual approach to the keyboard.

This class will complete the Musik Garten Keyboard Book Level 1 over the course of the year. We will strengthen aural skills, rhythm skills, and work as an ensemble on a variety of percussion instruments, as well as the keyboard. Each student must have access to a keyboard or piano in their home for practice.

Key: '1.5' or '2.5' denotes a class continuing from the fall.

Keyboard Magic
(Ages 6-8)
Singing, solfege, rhythm patterns, ear training, drumming and keyboard skills. This 60-minute class lays down a musical foundation in a joyful atmosphere of work and play. Each student must have access to a keyboard or piano in their home for practice.

Keyboard Magic is the final step in the ground breaking Musik Garten aural approach to music education. Children continue to build on their solfege skills. All of us discover many different ways to find tonal and rhythm patterns in the many types of music we sing, dance, drum, and play on resonator bars and on the keyboard. This musical experience solidifies the ear, body and voice as our musical instruments. The magic is the foundation that this class brings to future musical learning, whether it be vocal or instrumental. A book and two CD's support the home learning experience.
