DRAVO is both a drama and vocal class that allows students to build the skills to become a competent actor and singer. In this class, students will learn how to prepare and deliver a successful audition by practicing auditioning in front of fellow classmates.
Each 90 minute class will contain 45 minutes of vocal training in which students will participate in vocal warm-ups, learn specific pieces and develop an understanding of the aspects of healthy singing. In addition, each student will receive 3-5 minutes of individual coaching as the others observe and learn from one another.
The second portion of each class involves 45 minutes of theatre training including: improvisational games, public speaking, dramatic readings, story telling, monolouges, scenes and character development.
The fall session will culminate in a performance of selected pieces (performance information TBD).
The spring session will culminate with "Stars For A Night" where each student prepares a scene or monolouge and a song to be presented for this special end of the year Broadway style "recital".
